We Come Together For...

Masterclass Tastings

Bordeaux 2000, 20 years in Bottle, curated by fellow Commander TAN Yin-Sheng, Master of Wine

Members’s Auction

Auctioning off wines positions from our cellar. We do this on an occasional basis when we have too much stock. This will allow members to buy well aged gems at very attractive prices.

Theme Based Dinners

Our dinners usually have a theme that will allow us to compare and discuss specific Chateaux, vintages or appellations.

Gala Dinner with New Member Induction

Once a year we host a black tie gala dinner to induct new members.

Hosting a Chateau Representative

Chateau representatives often visit Asia to promote their wines. When they make a stop in Singapore we try to organise a dinner so we can get to know the people behind the Chateau better and learn about their wines. During Covid we did a Zoom session with wines directly flown in by the renowned Chateau Leoville Las Cases, tasting wines from 1985-2015.

Commanderie Singapore Trips

Annual Bordeaux Trips

Usually each year a delegation of the Singapore Commanderie makes a trip to Bordeaux to visit Chateaux, enjoy the region, relax and get updated on the latest developments

World Congress

Every 4 years, the GCVB invites all Commanderies to a World Congress which is held during the week when Bordeaux celebrates its lavish “Fete de Fleur”. During these four days all members are spoiled by exclusive Chateau invitations, dinners, tasting seminars and tours. An item for every Bordeaux lover’s bucket list.

As we gather to celebrate this milestone 40th Anniversary, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to all members of the Commanderie for their continued support, enthusiasm, and contribution over the years. Your dedication has been the foundation of our camaraderie and success.

I would like to express our sincere gratitude to our Passé Maîtres, namely, Jeremy Ramsey and Donald Wong (in memoriam), Keith Kuo, Wong Kok Leong, David Ong, Pang Hee Hon and Stéphane Benoist, for their steadfast leadership in growing the Singapore Commaderie from an early Asian pioneer into an established pillar within the regional fraternity today. We are especially grateful for how they have greatly deepened our knowledge of Bordeaux and her wines through thoughtful events and by building the impressive wine cellar we are privileged to share in now.

Last but certainly not least, I would like to sincerely thank all the Châteaux that donated all the amazing ’05 vintage wines in large format, for the tasting, for their very kind generosity.

I truly hope to see as many of you as possible join us for this special celebration — a tribute to four decades of friendship, passion, and the shared love of Bordeaux wines.

As guests of honor for the evening, we will welcome Mr Jean-Marc Dulong, our Grand Maître of the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux, and Mr Frédéric Faye, General Manager and Winemaker of Château Figeac.

    OTHER ACTIVITIES

We still have some bottles and Magnums of the special 2024 vintage release of Château Angelus – if you have not already done so, please let us know if you are interested:

    • 40th Vintage of Hubert de Boüard – Château Angelus
The 2024 vintage marks a historic occasion - the 40th vintage crafted under the stewardship of Hubert de Boüard, whose vision and dedication have shaped Angélus into one of the most revered names in Bordeaux. To commemorate this landmark and our longstanding and special relationship, the chateau has offered to produce a specially designed commemorative case to mark the anniversaries of the Commanderies de Bordeaux of Singapore and Hong Kong, who were both inaugurated in 1985.

We decided to collaborate with the Commanderie of Hong Kong to share one barrique (225 lt = 300 bottles). We will have 2 formats available: 6 Bottles (750ml) or 3 Magnums (1.5L) in a special commemorative engraved case.

Special (and confidential) release price is at Euro 170/btl (FOB ex-cellar). Delivery will take place in 2026 and can be arranged either to Singapore (in or out of bond) or Hong Kong. We will purchase some bottles and magnums for our Commanderie cellar as well.

Look forward to seeing you all soon.

    Bordeaux Toujours Bordeaux !
