Our Grand Maître of the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux, Jean-Marc Dulong, who's also Managing Director of Bastor Lamontagne, a Premier Cru Classé of Barsac, and Château du Tertre, a Fifth Classified Growth in Margaux, will make a quick stop over in Singapore right after Vinexpo in HK, and kindly accommodated some time to spend with us.
Being a Saturday and with the objective of giving our members the opportunity of interacting with and getting to know our "big boss", we have decided to run this event as a, like the French say, a "cocktail-dinatoire", meaning a stand-up cocktail cum dinner. Mr Dulong has to catch that late Air France flight back to Paris the same evening, so the plan is to start early, around 6pm.
We have reserved the top floor of Bistro du Sommelier, the Rillettes Bar, for the occasion.
The suggestion is for this event to be a members plus spouse/partner only, as the key objective is the opportunity of interaction with our Grand Maître.
We are fine tuning the menu, but it will include all the classics, such as Rillette, patés, cold cuts, as well as their famous sautéed frog legs, roasted French Chicken, Black Angus Ribeye, etc.
The selection of wines will be eclectic, as we will take the opportunity to clear some bin end bottles from our cellar. And of course, some Bastor Lamontagne and du Tertre.
